Job summary

Navy Region Southeast Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) is seeking a Community Recreation Specialist to plan, promote, and implement diverse MWR programs across base facilities. You will coordinate leisure activities, classes, and large-scale events, while building partnerships with on-base and community organizations.

The role emphasizes project oversight, budget awareness, and adherence to DoD and Navy guidelines, with opportunities to lead multi-program operations and deliver engaging

Qualifications

• Combination of experience related to customer service and/or activity-based programming.
• Ability to work independently, make sound decisions and communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of the goals, principles and methods of organizing and conducting activities.
• Ability to create, negotiate, implement and sustain partnerships via MWR agreements.
• Ability to maintain a clear and accurate database.
• Ability to represent the department and speak to groups.
• Knowledge of recreational and entertainment events.

Responsibilities

• Plan, promote and implement community recreation programs utilizing MWR facilities.
• Coordinate leisure activities and classes.
• Organize community events such as concerts, festivals and seasonal celebrations.
• Liaise with Training Support Center, Fleet & Family Readiness and tenant commands.
• Provide support for events with equipment, ideas and coordination.
