Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine's Lionville Community YMCA in Exton, PA is hiring a part-time Youth Sports Official to support safe, fair play across games and events. The role offers $15.00–$19.06 per hour and opportunities to engage families and participants in a positive fitness and community environment.

Ideal candidates have at least two years of officiating sports, a HS diploma or GED, and strong verbal/interpersonal communication skills.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of two years officiating sports.
• Advanced knowledge of the sport.
• Ability to relate to all ages and ability levels.

Responsibilities

• Act in accordance with YMCA of the USA Youth Sports policies and procedures.
• Build relationships with participants, parents, coaches, and officials.
• Maintain a safe sports environment at all times.
• Conduct a coaches’ meeting before each game.
• Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Act in accordance with YMCA of the USA Youth Sports policies and procedures at all times.
• Build relationships with participants, parents, coaches, and officials.
• Maintain a safe sports environment at all times. Make sure that non-participants are not interfering with game play or participation of team members.
• Conduct a coaches’ meeting before each game.
• Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

QualificationsWhat You’ll Need

• 18 years of age or older
• HS diploma/GED preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years officiating sports
• Possesses advanced knowledge of the sport
• Display appropriate maturity level and ability to relate to all ages and ability levels
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Obtain and maintain all additional new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
