Job summary

YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking a Sports Official to officiate youth soccer, flag football, and basketball in alignment with YMCA goals. The role focuses on fair play, safety, and positive participant experiences.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• HS diploma/GED preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years officiating sports.
• Possesses advanced knowledge of the sport.
• Display appropriate maturity level and ability to relate to all ages and ability levels.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Obtain and maintain all additional new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Act in accordance with YMCA of the USA Youth Sports policies and procedures at all times.
• Build relationships with participants, parents, coaches, and officials.
• Maintain a safe sports environment at all times. Make sure that non-participants are not interfering with game play or participation of team members.
• Conduct a coaches’ meeting before each game.
• Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
