Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking a Sports Official to officiate youth flag football, soccer and basketball at Upper Main Line YMCA in Berwyn, PA. You will help ensure fair play and a safe environment in line with YMCA policies.

We value experience: at least two years officiating, strong sport knowledge, and excellent verbal and interpersonal communication. Benefits include free family membership, health insurance, paid time off and retirement options.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• HS diploma/GED preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years officiating sports
• Possesses advanced knowledge of the sport
• Display appropriate maturity level and ability to relate to all ages and ability levels
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Obtain and maintain all additional new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Act in accordance with YMCA of the USA Youth Sports policies and procedures at all times.
• Build relationships with participants, parents, coaches, and officials.
• Maintain a safe sports environment at all times. Make sure that non-participants are not interfering with game play or participation of team members.
• Conduct a coaches’ meeting before each game.
• Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
