Job summary

Sweet Briar College in Virginia is seeking a student assistant to track and record official statistics for varsity teams in soccer, field hockey, softball and lacrosse, and to assist with game-day setup, teardown and operations for those sports.

You will help compile historical records for athletic record books, assist with planning and running events such as the annual awards ceremony, and help keep team social media accounts current and on trend.

Job Summary/Objective:

Position Type/Expected Work Hours

• Scheduled shifts throughout the week (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) with weekend
  and night work for game as needed, will not exceed 20 hours per week
  
• Work directly with communications staff in coverage of one or more
  sports
• Update coach and student-athlete biographies
• Update in-season statistics
• Learn statistical programs for assigned sports
• Update and help create record books for assigned sports
• Keeping the social media accounts up-to-date and on trend

The hourly rate for this position is 11.50 per hour. This is commensurate with education and experience and will be determined in accordance with institutional guidelines.
