Job summary

Westminster College in the United States is seeking a Student Assistant - Game Worker to support athletic events and office tasks.

The role involves creating and bringing in game signs, assisting with setup and scorekeeping, and working afternoons, evenings, and weekends as home events require.

This position is open only to active Westminster College students who are currently enrolled.

Responsibilities

• Assist in office with computer work, work orders, athletic contest set-up and other duties as assigned by office staff.
• Create and place sporting event signs; manage the wall calendar entries.
• Work athletic events (scoreboard, line calls, equipment handling) including nights, weekends and some holidays for home events.
• Support home events during the school year (basketball, baseball, softball, football, etc.).
• Ensure game signs are brought in and stored properly each day, coordinating with staff as needed.

• Assist in office with computer work, work orders, athletic contest set-up and other duties as assigned by office staff.
• Have a desire to make sporting event signs and write events on the wall calendar.
• Would prefer to have someone who could work every day for an hour or so. Mainly afternoons and Monday mornings.
• Work athletic events (scoreboard, call volleyball lines, soccer balls and other jobs as needed at the games). This will require availability on nights, weekends and some holidays if we have home events.
• Work home events during the school year where needed. (i.e. basketball games, baseball games, softball games, football games etc.).
• You will be responsible for making sure the game sign is brought into the foyer every day it is out. You can ask another athletic dept. worker to do it but ultimately it is YOUR responsibility to make sure it is brought in.

Fall and Spring Sports: between 4:30 and 5:30 pm

Basketball: between 6 pm and end of the last game

NOTE: The amount of working hours a week varies as it depends on how many HOME events we have that week and that you work them. Some weeks we have several and some weeks we have none.
