Job summary

Ballpark Village's The Sports & Social Club is seeking a Cook to join our busy kitchen. You will prepare and cook orders, control waste, and assist with inventory while maintaining a clean, safe workstation.

This role requires at least 1 year on a fast-paced line, ability to follow recipes and portions, basic math, and excellent teamwork. Night, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required in our dynamic sports bar and grill environment.

Qualifications

• Experience on a fast-paced kitchen line and food preparation.
• Culinary certified training preferred.
• Basic knowledge of cooking, following recipes, portion control, and presentation.
• Good communication with other cooks, wait staff and supervisors.
• Reading and writing abilities used for recipes, scheduling and inventory.
• Math skills for percentages, quantities and variances.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or health/food handler card as required by local/state government.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Control food usage to minimize waste.
• Prepare and cook orders for daily operations in a timely manner.
• Advise supervisor of low inventory items; assist in receiving items and taking inventory as required.
• Restock items as needed through the shift.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen area that meet or exceed health standards.
• Maintain a clean, neat and well-organized work area.
• Report unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
• May assist with ware washer or other kitchen duties as needed.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with other departments; may interact with guests.
• Perform more than one task at a time.
