Job summary

The Sports & Social Club Louisville is looking for a Cook to join our casual sports-bar kitchen. You will prepare and cook orders for daily operations, maintain sanitation, and collaborate with a team to deliver quality food during lunch, dinner, and nightlife events.

The role requires at least one year of fast-paced kitchen experience, ability to follow recipes, and strong communication with staff and supervisors; flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• At least one year experience cooking on a fast paced kitchen line.
• Culinary certified training preferred.
• Basic knowledge of cooking, following recipes, portion control, and presentation.
• Communication with other cooks, wait staff and supervisors.
• Reading and writing abilities used when following recipes, scheduling, or inventory.
• Mathematical skills including basic math, percentages, quantities, and variances.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food handler card as required by local/state government.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Control food usage to minimize waste.
• Prepare and cook orders for daily operations in a timely manner.
• Advise supervisor of low inventory items; assist in receiving items and taking inventory as required.
• Restock items as needed through the shift.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen area that meet or exceed Health Board requirements.
• Maintain a clean, neat and well-organized work area.
• Reports all unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
• May assist by performing ware washer or other kitchen duties as needed.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with other departments; may interact with guests.
