Sports & Social Bethesda is a one-of-a-kind sports bar and social lounge in Bethesda, MD. The Cook position supports daily kitchen operations, preparing and cooking orders promptly while maintaining sanitation and inventory control.

You will work on a fast-paced line, follow recipes, and ensure portion control and presentation. Strong communication with fellow cooks, wait staff, and supervisors is essential.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of fast-paced line cooking experience.
• Culinary certified training preferred.
• Basic cooking knowledge: following recipes, portions, presentation.
• Strong communication with cooks, wait staff and supervisors.
• Reading and writing abilities used for recipes and inventory.
• Mathematical skills: percentages, quantities, variances.
• Alcohol awareness certification or health/food handler card as required by local/state rules.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Responsabilités

• Control food usage to minimize waste.
• Prepare and cook orders for daily operations in a timely manner.
• Advise supervisor of low inventory items; assist in receiving items and taking inventory as required.
• Restock items as needed through the shift.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards meeting Health Board and company requirements.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and organized work area.
• Report unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
• May assist by performing ware washer or other kitchen duties.
• Promote teamwork and quality service; interact with guests as needed.
• Perform more than one task at a time.
