Job summary

Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) seeks a Sponsorship Specialist to manage external student sponsorships from intake to award, ensuring accuracy and timeliness within FERPA/GDPR guidelines. You will communicate with students, donors, and internal teams while safeguarding records and coordinating across departments.

The role supports Enrollment and Retention at MATC's Downtown Milwaukee campus, with full-time hours and salary determined by experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with three (3) years of related administrative or financial support experience (e.g., accounts receivable, billing, records verification, or customer account support).
• Associate’s degree in Business or a similar field. Two (2) or more years of experience in higher education (Bursar, Financial Aid, or Registrar), specifically handling external funding, sponsorships, or student accounts.

Responsibilities

• Independently review, verify, create, modify, and award external sponsorships to student accounts. Ensure all funding is applied timely and accurately according to specific criteria to prevent over-awarding.
• Stakeholder: Serve as the primary point of contact for the dedicated sponsorship inbox. Triage, prioritize, and resolve inquiries from students, donors, and internal departments with speed and professionalism.
• Ethical processing: Evaluate financial documents and calculate aid or financial allocations strictly based on established guidelines, ensuring complete fairness and freedom from bias. Safeguard all personal, financial, and institutional records in strict accordance with relevant privacy frameworks (e.g., FERPA, GLBA, GDPR) and organizational policy.
• Data integrity: Utilize internal and external reporting systems and databases to track sponsorships, audit account balances, and pull reports.
• Student advising: Provide empathetic, clear, timely, and accurate guidance to students regarding their sponsorship status, account balances, and next steps.
• Collaborative teamwork: Establishes, maintains, and enhances positive work relationships with staff, faculty, and administrators.
• Continuous learning: Maintains current knowledge of best practices and standards in higher education with an emphasis on community Colleges. Actively organizes and/or participates in applicable workgroups, trainings, workshops, seminars, committees and professional associations or conferences to promote continuous learning.
• Other duties: Perform other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operation of the division and to support institutional objectives.
