Job summary

Charming Lakes Rehabilitation in Lakeland, FL is seeking a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team on a PRN basis. You will help residents improve communication, cognition, and swallowing, working within an interdisciplinary team in a skilled nursing environment.

Requirements include a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program, Florida licensure or eligibility, CCC from ASHA (or in process), and at least 2 years of experience preferred.

• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred in SNF or rehab.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations and develop customized treatment plans for communication, cognition, and swallowing.
• Train residents in adaptive communication devices.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to plan therapy.
• Maintain thorough documentation and communicate outcomes to care team.
• Supervise support staff and train facility staff in therapy practices.
• Ensure proper maintenance and use of therapy equipment and identify needs.
• Provide compassionate guidance to residents and families.

Position Summary

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping residents improve their communication, cognitive abilities, and swallowing functions. You’ll work in a warm, team-oriented environment where your expertise makes a meaningful difference every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations and develop customized treatment plans targeting communication, cognition, dysphagia, and related areas.
• Recommend and train residents in the use of adaptive communication devices.
• Partner with the interdisciplinary team to develop therapy plans based on each resident’s individual needs.
• Maintain thorough documentation, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate outcomes with the care team.
• Supervise support personnel and provide training to facility staff on speech therapy practices.
• Ensure proper maintenance and use of therapy equipment and identify equipment needs or repairs.
• Provide compassionate guidance and clear communication to residents and their families.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program.
• Licensed or eligible to practice in the state of Florida.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA, or currently in the certification process.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred, particularly in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting.
