Job summary

Charming Lakes Rehabilitation in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to assess and treat residents' communication, cognition, and swallowing needs in a supportive, team-based setting. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program, is licensed or eligible to practice in Florida, and has CCC from ASHA or is pursuing it.

A minimum of 2 years of experience in skilled nursing or rehab is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible to practice in Florida.
• CCC from ASHA or currently in certification process.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred, especially in skilled nursing or rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations and develop customized treatment plans targeting communication, cognition, dysphagia, and related areas.
• Recommend and train residents in the use of adaptive communication devices.
• Partner with the interdisciplinary team to develop therapy plans based on each resident’s individual needs.
• Maintain thorough documentation, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate outcomes with the care team.
• Supervise support personnel and provide training to facility staff on speech therapy practices.
• Ensure proper maintenance and use of therapy equipment and identify equipment needs or repairs.
• Provide compassionate guidance and clear communication to residents and their families.
