Job summary

The Marina Post-Acute is seeking a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our skilled nursing facility in Florida. You will evaluate and treat residents to improve communication, cognition, and safe swallowing, with a focus on maximizing independence.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized plans, monitor progress, document in EMR, and educate residents and families on home exercises.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in SLP and current Florida license or eligibility.
• CCC-SLP preferred or eligibility for certification.
• Strong assessment and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team at a skilled nursing facility in Florida. In this role, you will help residents improve communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities while enhancing their independence and quality of life.

Working alongside an interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans for residents recovering from illness, injury, or surgery, as well as those managing chronic conditions.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate residents for speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on resident goals and clinical needs.
• Provide direct therapy services to promote communication, cognition, and safe swallowing function.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, rehabilitation professionals, caregivers, and facility staff.
• Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and facility requirements.
• Educate residents and families regarding treatment strategies and home exercise programs.
• Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions.

Qualifications

Required

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current Florida Speech-Language Pathologist license or ability to obtain licensure before employment.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Strong clinical assessment, treatment, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Preferred

• Experience in a skilled nursing facility, post-acute care, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting.
• Knowledge of dysphagia management and modified barium swallow recommendations.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
