Job summary

Charming Lakes Rehabilitation in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to help residents improve communication, cognition, and swallowing. You will conduct evaluations, tailor therapy plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support recovery and quality of life.

This role requires a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, Florida licensure or eligibility, CCC from ASHA or in progress, and at least 2 years’ experience in skilled nursing or rehab.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program.
• Licensed or eligible to practice in the state of Florida.
• CCC from ASHA, or currently in the certification process.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred, particularly in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations and develop customized treatment plans targeting communication, cognition, dysphagia, and related areas.
• Recommend and train residents in the use of adaptive communication devices.
• Partner with the interdisciplinary team to develop therapy plans based on each resident’s individual needs.
• Maintain thorough documentation, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate outcomes with the care team.
• Supervise support personnel and provide training to facility staff on speech therapy practices.
• Ensure proper maintenance and use of therapy equipment and identify equipment needs or repairs.
• Provide compassionate guidance and clear communication to residents and their families.
