Job summary

Encinitas Post-Acute is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide and direct high-quality patient care in a long-term care setting. You will evaluate, treat, plan goals, educate families, document according to guidelines, and advocate for patients.

Responsibilities include supervising assistants and students where applicable, ensuring safety, maintaining EMR entries, and contributing to department operations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved curriculum in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Active license as Speech-Language Pathologist in good standing.
• CPR Certification required for license renewal.
• Working knowledge of Medicare and other payor sources.
• Experience in long term care preferred.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises the work of assistants and students as applicable with State and Federal guidelines.
• Follows safety procedures for patient protection and safety.
• Expands clinical and professional knowledge through associations and continuing education.
• Keys information into computer systems, including EMR and rehab systems.
• Supports and participates in department operations and development.
• Communicates patient status and needs to patients, family, caregivers, or other team members.
