Job summary

Indiana University Health System's Riley Hospital – Inpatient Rehab seeks a Speech Pathologist to provide diagnostic evaluations, design treatment plans, and deliver direct patient care, including supervision of staff and students. The role supports communication and swallowing therapies in a fast-paced inpatient setting.

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in speech pathology, be licensed in Indiana, and have ASHA CCC or eligibility, with BLS; advanced life support may be required by unit

Qualifications

• Requires a Master's degree in speech pathology.
• Requires current license in the State of Indiana.
• Requires a certificate of clinical competence (ASHA CCC) or eligibility.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Performs speech pathology services including diagnostic evaluations to determine level of impairment.
• After administering the appropriate tests, designs a treatment plan for improved communication and swallowing.
• Performs direct patient care services including supervision of support personnel and students.
• Willingly participates in related activities in support of patient care, education and department operations.

• Requires a Master's Degree from an accredited academic program in speech pathology; or, if foreign trained, graduation from a speech pathology education program outside the US with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA.
• Requires current license in the State of Indiana.
• Requires a certificate of clinical competence awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility for this certificate.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
