Job summary

Location

IU Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, IN.

Shift

One weekend day per month is required.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Performs speech pathology services including diagnostic evaluations to determine level of impairment. After administering the appropriate tests and measures, a treatment plan is designed for improved communication and swallowing.
  • Performs direct patient care services including the supervision of support personnel and students.
  • Willingly participates in related activities in support of patient care, education and department operations.
Requirements
  • Requires a Master's Degree from an accredited academic program in speech pathology; or, if foreign trained, graduation from a speech pathology education program outside the US with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA.
  • Requires current license in the State of Indiana.
  • Requires a certificate of clinical competence awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility for this certificate. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
Preferred Skills
  • 6 months’ experience in Acute Care Inpatient Rehab required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Adaptable to fast paced setting.
