Job summary

St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide expert assessment and treatment for pediatric communication and swallowing disorders, under mentor guidance aligned with ASHA.

The role includes program development, quality improvement, and collaborative problem solving in a flexible, interdisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes and productivity.

• Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role.
• Relevant Experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients with communicative deficits across speaking, listening, reading and writing; include swallowing/secretions management.
• Participate in program development, quality improvement, problem solving and productivity improvement.
• Provide mentorship and collaborate in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion.
• Support ongoing initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and department efficiency.

Job Summary

A Speech-Language Pathologist consists of ongoing mentorship focusing on requirements, as outlined by ASHA (American Speech and Hearing Association). The Speech-Language Pathologist will also participate in program development, quality improvement, problem solving, and productivity improvement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion. This position is responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients who persistently demonstrate communicative deficits in any modality: speaking, listening, reading, and/or writing. This position is also responsible for any patient who has difficulty managing his/her secretions or in swallowing. This may include a variety of diagnoses.
