Job summary

Reading Hospital in Wyomissing is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our outpatient rehabilitation services. The role involves evaluating and treating patients with speech, language, voice, fluency, and dysphagia, and coordinating with the Rehab team.

You will develop and implement therapy programs, communicate findings to patients and families, and participate in hospital-wide rehabilitation programs while collaborating with physicians, nurses, case managers and other professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent.
• ASLHA Clinical Competence Certification in SLP.
• PA Speech Language Pathologist License.
• BLS Certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients referred for appraisal of speech, language, voice, fluency, and dysphagia.
• Plans and implements treatment programs per professional standards.
• Communicates results to patients, families, and other professionals.
• Participates in Hospital or Community rehab activities.
• Maintains relationships with hospital leadership, physicians, nurses, case managers, social workers, allied health professionals, ancillary services, and hospital staff.

The Speech Language Pathologist

• Evaluates patients referred for appraisal of speech, language, voice, fluency, and dysphagia, carry out therapy, as appropriate, communicate results to patients, parents and other professionals, and participate in various Hospital or Community related activities.
• Evaluates, plans and implements treatment programs for referred patients according to accepted principles and practices of Speech Therapy.
• Supports all programs in the Rehabilitation Continuum.
• Maintains working relationships with Hospital leadership, physicians, nurses, case managers, social workers, allied health professionals, ancillary services, and hospital support personnel.
• Supervised by and reports to Therapy Manager or Senior Therapist. Supervises assistants, aides, and students.
