Job summary

Lifepoint Rehabilitation is seeking a Speech Pathologist to join Powers Health Rehabilitation Center in Indiana. You will perform initial and ongoing assessments, design plans of care with patients and families, educate on treatment progress, assist with discharge, and supervise students and fellows.

The role is PRN at a 40-bed freestanding facility rated highly for outcomes, with a collaborative nursing-therapy team and opportunities for ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent.
  • ASHA CCC or CFY eligibility is required or in progress.
  • Licensed or eligible for state licensure in Indiana.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition.
  • Designs and implements a plan of care involving patient and family.
  • Educates patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
  • Plans and assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
  • Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and support personnel.

A Speech Pathologistwho excels in this role:

  • Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
  • Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.
  • Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
  • Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
  • Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a Masters degree. Additional requirements include:

  • A Bachelor's and Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders, or similarly titled area that is consistent and acceptable to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
  • Possess or eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow (CFY).
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in state
  • Current BLS/CPR Card
