Job summary

Lifepoint Rehabilitation in East Chicago, IN seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for PRN role at St. Catherine Rehab Center. You'll assess patients, develop and implement plans of care, educate families, and assist with discharge from therapy services.

You'll also supervise clinical fellows and students while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care. PRN with one Saturday per month minimum.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA‑accredited program.
  • CCC-SLP or CFY eligibility and licensure in the state.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document initial and ongoing assessments of patients' conditions.
  • Design and implement plans of care involving patients and families.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and progress.
  • Plan or assist with discharge from therapy services.
  • Supervise clinical fellows, students, and support staff.

How You'll Contribute
A Speech-Language Pathologist who excels in this role:
  • Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
  • Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.
  • Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
  • Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
  • Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.

What We're Looking For
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders, or similarly titled area that is consistent and acceptable to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Possess or eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow (CFY).
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in state.
  • Current Basic Life Support
