Job summary

Empath Home Health in Ocala, FL is seeking a caring PRN Speech Language Pathologist to join our Home Health team and deliver individualized care to patients in their homes across Marion, Lake, and Sumter counties.

In this role, you will assess patients, develop plans of care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, and educate families on swallowing safety and communication strategies, while supporting cognitive and language development.

Qualifications

• Must have CCC-SLP eligibility or be pursuing certification and accumulating supervised experience.
• Active Florida SLP license.
• Minimum 1 year of licensed SLP experience; home health experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient-education skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled speech therapy services per physician orders and plan of care.
• Complete initial and ongoing patient assessments including required OASIS.
• Develop individualized plans of care with physicians and the care team.
• Educate patients and families on swallowing safety, dietary consistency, and communication strategies.
• Support cognitive, language, and memory development through targeted interventions.

Empath Home Health , a member of Empath Health is seeking a caring and motivated PRN Home Health Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to work with our Home Health team to deliver individualized care to patients in their homes throughout the Ocala, FL area (Marion, Lake, and/or Sumter counties).

Locations: Home health visits available in the Ocala area ( Marion, Lake , and/or Sumter counties). It is very flexible - you choose when & where you want to work!

Schedule : PRN role; 5-15+ home health visits per week. If desired, part-time or even full-time may be available!

What you’ll Do

• Provide skilled speech therapy services in accordance with physician orders, the plan of care, and regulatory standards
• Complete initial and ongoing patient assessments, including required OASIS assessments
• Develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families on swallowing safety, dietary consistency, and communication strategies
• Support cognitive, sensory‑motor, language, and memory development through individualized therapeutic interventions

What You’ll Need

• Graduate of an approved/accredited college program that meets the educational requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech pathology or audiology granted by the American Speech and Hearing Association; or enrolled in a program that meets the educational requirements for certification and in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification.
• Active Florida SLP license
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP); Home health care experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient-education skills
