Job summary

BrightSpring Health Services in Centre, AL is seeking a Home Health Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for PRN assignments. The SLP will provide patient-centered, one-on-one therapy in a home health setting, with opportunities to work independently while receiving team support and ongoing professional growth.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology, an active state license, and BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Current, unrestricted license as a Speech Language Pathologist in the practicing state.
• Current BLS or CPR certification per state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients to evaluate speech or language needs and determine continued therapy.
• Teach patients to make sounds and improve voice quality.
• Teach alternative communication methods (e.g., sign language) when needed.
• Educate and guide healthcare team members, patients, and caregivers in therapeutic exercises to support progress.
• Document progress and clinical notes and submit visit documentation per agency policy.

Responsibilities

As a Home Health Speech Language Pathologist , You will:

• Communicate with patients to evaluate their levels of speech or language difficulty, determining the need for continued therapy services
• Teach patients how to make sounds and improve their voices
• Teach alternative communication methods, such as sign language, to patients with little or no speech capability
• Educate and guide healthcare team members, patients, and caregivers in specific aspects of therapeutic exercises to support continued progress outside of direct therapy sessions
• Document appropriate progress and clinical notes noting patient's response to therapy and submit visit documentation per Agency policy

Qualifications

• Minimum of Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from a college or university with accredited Speech Language Pathology program
• A minimum of one (1) year's work experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
• Current, unrestricted license as an Speech Language Pathologist by state in which practicing
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR certification in accordance state regulations
