Job summary

Hospital Sisters Health System Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for an inpatient rehabilitation setting in Wisconsin. You will perform evaluations, design and implement treatment plans, and collaborate with physicians, therapists, patients and families to optimize recovery.

Eligible candidates hold at least a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology with ASHA CFY/Certification options and state licensure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Speech-Language Pathology or similar, per ASHA guidelines.
  • ASHA Certification eligibility or CFY eligibility.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform speech and language assessments and plan care.
  • Provide therapy modalities and treatments per plan and physician orders.
  • Assess treatment outcomes and modify plan to achieve goals.
  • Coordinate discharge planning and communicate with patient, family, and care team.

How you'll Contribute

Assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides speech and language therapy evaluations, modalities, and treatments in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care.

  • Performs patient assessment.
  • Establish a plan of care.
  • Provides care in accordance with physician's orders and established plan of care.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of treatment and modifies treatment to achieve goals.
  • Plans for patient discharge. Communicates with patients, family, caregivers, significant other, and members of the healthcare team to achieve rehabilitation goals and promote maximum benefits of care.

What we're looking for

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A Bachelor's and Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders, or similarly titled area that is consistent and acceptable to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Possess or eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow (CFY).
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in state.
  • Current Basic Life Support/CPR card.
