Job summary

Lifepoint Health seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide therapy and maximize speech, language, cognitive and swallowing abilities for adults and geriatrics at our Towanda campus. You will document care and communicate progress to the team, while coordinating scheduling and family instruction with state/regulatory compliance in mind.

The role requires a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, licensure, and CPR certification, with a focus on collaborative patient care and adherence to

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current state license in the practicing state and ASHA CCC preferred.
• Minimum six months of adult/geriatric speech therapy experience.
• Current CPR certification and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapy to maximize speech, language, cognitive and swallowing abilities.
• Document patient care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer and accrediting requirements.
• Communicate patient progress to supervisor and other team members; assist with patient scheduling.
• Instruct patient's family or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition.
• Handle job responsibilities in accordance with Lifepoint's policies and applicable laws.
• Other duties as assigned

Formerly known as Towanda Memorial Hospital, this facility is a satellite campus of Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, located 17 miles north in Sayre, Pa.

The Towanda campus joined Guthrie in April 2015, serving Bradford and Sullivan counties, offering ease of access to clinical services to those in the surrounding communities. Long-term care services are also provided for patients with a 68-bed skilled nursing unit and a 94-bed personal care home.

How You'll Contribute

• Play an important part in helping our patient to recover and feel better about themselves by providing therapy to maximize speech, language, cognitive and swallowing abilities


• Communicate patient progress or problems to supervisor and other team members; assist with patient scheduling and post charges daily to patient records


• Document patient care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer and accrediting requirements


• Instruct patient's family or nursing staff in follow-through programs


• Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition


• Handle job responsibilities in accordance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, appropriate professional standards and applicable state/federal laws


• Other duties as assigned

What we're looking for

• Applicants should be a graduate of a master's level program in Speech Language Pathology which is accredited by Education Standards Board or whose practice meets ASHA certification requirements. Additional requirements include:


• Meet the education and experience requirements for Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology or Audiology granted by ASHA


• Minimum of six months speech therapist / speech language pathologist experience working with an adult and geriatric population


• Current and unrestricted Speech Language Pathologist license in the state where services are rendered


• Current CPR certification


• Strong organizational and communication skills
