Job summary

Almaden Health and Rehabilitation Center seeks a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents with speech, swallowing, and cognitive disorders, following state and federal guidelines.

Under physician direction, you will develop and implement plan of care, administer tests, educate families, maintain records, and participate in rehabilitation programs. Master’s in SLP and active state license required; clinical competency certification; one year experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology.
• Current license in Speech Therapy as required by state law.
• Certification in clinical competency.
• One year clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Screens and evaluates residents and develops appropriate care plans.
• Under a physician’s direction, provides direct patient/resident treatment based on established plan of care.
• Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency.
• Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Instructs residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
• Maintains patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
• Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.

Education

Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology

Current license in Speech Therapy

Certification in clinical competency

One year clinical experience preferred
