Adept Nursing & Rehab of North Platte in Nebraska is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate and treat residents with speech, swallowing and cognitive disorders in line with state and federal guidelines.

Under physician direction, you will conduct assessments, plan rehabilitative programs, administer tests, develop treatment tools, document progress, and educate residents, families and staff on therapy goals and techniques.

Qualifications

  • Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current license in Speech Therapy as required by state law.
  • Certification in clinical competency.
  • One-year clinical experience preferred.
  • Experience with cognitive and dysphagia rehabilitation within a skilled nursing facility preferred.
  • Knowledge in short-term and long-term SLP care.

  • Plans, directs or conducts rehabilitative programs to restore communicative skills and swallowing or cognitive function.
  • Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
  • Devises tools and treatments for patient-specific needs.
  • Instructs residents, families and caregivers to monitor speech and practice new skills.
  • Completes timely documentation including progress notes, screen reports, daily notes and discharge summaries.
  • Instructs patients as well as family members and staff in goals, progress and therapeutic techniques.
  • Ensures compliance with protocols and regulations.

Job Summary: Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) evaluate and treat residents and patients with temporary or long-term speech, hearing, swallowing, and cognitive disabilities in compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Responsibilities of Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP):
  • Under a physician's direction, provides quality Speech-Language Pathologist services, including evaluating patients, screening, initiating referrals, obtaining data, and following through with the established plan of care.
  • Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication and/or swallowing or cognitive problems.
  • Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
