Job summary

Elwood Community School Corporation seeks a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to provide temporary coverage for a staff member on maternity leave. The SLP will deliver speech and language services to students in accordance with IEPs and collaborate with school staff and families.

Requires Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Indiana licensure, and current credentials; experience with children and adolescents preferred; knowledge of AAC is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Indiana licensure/certification to practice as a school-based SLP.
  • Current professional credentials as required by state/district.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and/or consultative speech-language services per IEPs.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions targeting articulation, language, fluency, and voice.
  • Conduct screenings, assessments, and evaluations as assigned.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and CCC proceedings.
  • Collect data for progress monitoring and reporting.
  • Complete required documentation and maintain student records.
  • Collaborate with teachers, admins, service providers, and families.
  • Provide recommendations to support communication across settings.
  • Ensure services align with IEPs and district/state requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and district policies.

Job description

Elwood Community School Corporation is seeking a qualified and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to provide temporary coverage for a staff member on maternity leave. The SLP will provide speech and language services to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborate with school staff and families, and support students' communication needs within the educational environment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and/or consultative speech-language services as outlined in students' IEPs.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions targeting articulation, receptive/expressive language, fluency, voice, social communication, and/or other identified communication needs.
  • Conduct screenings, assessments, and evaluations as assigned.
  • Participate in Case Conference Committee (CCC)/IEP meetings and contribute relevant information regarding student needs and progress.
  • Collect and maintain accurate data for progress monitoring and reporting.
  • Complete required documentation and maintain appropriate student records.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families.
  • Provide recommendations and strategies to support students' communication skills across educational settings.
  • Ensure services and accommodations are implemented in accordance with students' IEPs and applicable federal and state requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with district policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Appropriate Indiana licensure/certification to practice as a school-based speech-language pathologist.
  • Current professional credentials as required by the state and district.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary educational team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of special education and IEP procedures.
  • Previous experience working with AAC devices.
