Job summary

Mercy Health – Youngstown seeks a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults within inpatient and outpatient settings. The role includes patient evaluations, treatment planning, team collaboration, family training, and participation in staff education.

Must hold SLP license; CCC-SLP preferred; BLS required within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of practice.
• CCC-SLP certification preferred; required within one year of hire.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred; required within 30 days for some positions.

Responsibilities

• Reviews referrals, patient condition, and history to determine therapy needs.
• Performs evaluations and documents discharge plans based on data.
• Plans and administers speech-language pathology treatments.
• Instructs patients and families to continue therapy at home.
• Coordinates with treatment teams and participates in care conferences.
• Precepts students and supports clinical fellowship activities.
