Job summary

Mercy Health – Lorain Hospital seeks a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in adults and children. You will manage patient cases, coordinate with the care team and supervise clinical fellows and students.

The role involves inpatient and outpatient settings, rotating weekends and holidays, and requires licensed SLP credentials with CCC-SLP preferred and BLS requirements.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of practice (required)
• CCC-SLP certification preferred at hire, required within one year
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred within 30 days (BSMH)

Responsibilities

• Reviews physician referral, patient condition, and medical history to determine therapy needs.
• Performs and documents patient evaluation and re-evaluation; develops plans.
• Plans and administers speech language pathology treatments as prescribed.
• Instructs patients and families to continue exercises at home.
• Coordinates care with the treatment team and participates in meetings.
