Job summary

Capital Health seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to assess and treat patients in hospital, outpatient clinic, and home-based settings. You will plan and provide speech, language and swallowing therapy, document outcomes, and coordinate care with physicians, nurses, case managers and CH interdisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, NJ licensure, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited speech language pathology school or education approved by NJ State Board of Speech Language Pathology Examiners.
• Licensed as a speech-language pathologist by the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Advisory Committee.
• One year experience preferred with patient populations specific to the position including acute adult inpatient, adult outpatient, or pediatric.
• AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider; Stroke CEU requirements: 2 hours annually for acute care.
• Strong interpersonal skills and cultural competence.
• Ongoing continuing education courses.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients and determine appropriate treatment plan.
• Plan and provide speech language and swallowing therapy services.
• Document all aspects of speech language pathology services in a timely and effective manner.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, case managers, and CH interdisciplinary team members.
• Develop treatment plans and establish measurable goals for patients.
• Engage in professional development and participate in committees and PI activities.
