Qualifications

• Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Education Specialization in Speech-Language Pathology from an institution accredited by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA).

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents an initial exam, evaluating data to identify functional impairments.
• Confers with the patient, family, caregivers, physician, and multi-disciplinary team members to plan, implement and assess the intervention program.
• Administers tests to evaluate and provide treatment for speech, voice, swallowing, dysfluency, cognition, and language function disorders by using written and oral tests.
• Instructs the patient, family, and caregivers in techniques to increase functional communication and swallow safety and other treatment procedures to increase improve patient outcomes.
• Performs medicine reconciliation as part of a multi-disciplinary team and monitors patient’s vital signs during treatment sessions.
