Job summary

Capital Health in New Jersey seeks a Speech Pathologist to assess and treat patients across hospital and outpatient settings, planning and delivering speech language and swallowing therapy while documenting care precisely. You will coordinate with physicians, nurses, case managers and other CH team members to support optimal outcomes.

Requirements include NJ licensure as a speech-language pathologist, AHA BLS for healthcare providers, and stroke education.

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited speech language pathology school or NJ State Board approved education.
• AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider credential.
• Licensed as a speech-language pathologist by NJ Division of Consumer Affairs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients in hospital, outpatient clinic, and home settings under hospital programs.
• Gather data from patient/family, records, and observations; use evaluation techniques and testing as needed.
• Develop treatment plans with measurable goals and implement therapies.
• Instruct patients, families and caregivers to maximize function and discharge planning.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, case managers and CH team; communicate effectively outside CH when needed.
• Document thoroughly for evaluation, care, attendance, discharge and billing.
• Engage in professional development and participate in PI activities and committees.
