Job summary

MCPS is seeking a speech-language pathologist to screen, evaluate and diagnose and remediate communication disorders in students from birth to twenty-one, including articulation, voice, language and fluency issues that affect educational performance. The role requires selecting effective therapeutic materials and implementing goals for individuals and small groups.

The position includes consulting with classroom teachers and parents, and active participation in IEP team meetings.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in evaluation and remediation of communication disorders.
  • Experience with IEPs/IFSPs and parent counseling.
  • MD licensure eligibility: DHMH license or MSDE certification; CCC desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Screen, evaluate, diagnose, and remediate communication disorders for students aged birth to 21.
  • Develop goals and objectives and select appropriate therapy materials.
  • Consult with teachers and parents to implement programs in classrooms.
  • Participate in IEP and IFSP meetings and maintain longitudinal student records.

Education

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
MD/DHMH or MSDE licensure eligibility
CCC desirable / CFY eligible
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to develop goals and objectives for students
Interdisciplinary collaboration with parents and teachers
