Job summary

SSM Health Physical Therapy Day Instititute in Chesterfield, MO is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our outpatient rehabilitation program.

You will evaluate patients, develop treatment goals, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to improve communication and swallowing outcomes in a supportive, professional setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Therapy is required.
• Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist is required.
• Current CCC in Speech Language Pathology from ASHA or eligibility for Certification pending.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates assigned patients and establishes appropriate treatment goals and programs.
• Provides ongoing evaluation of patient’s status and goals.
• Develops comprehensive goals for patient treatment to maximize outcomes.
• Coordinates treatment program with other clinical/therapeutic services.
• Attends clinical meetings to facilitate coordination.
• Provides for patient education including home programs with instruction to patient, family and caregivers.
• Prepares for patient discharge including equipment orders and recommendations.
• Evaluates patient in home, school, work or community environments.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Therapy

State licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist

Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology (ASHA) or eligibility for Certification

Position: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Chesterfield, MO

Type of Employment: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00A-4:30P

SSM Health Day Institute is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to work in our specialized outpatient rehabilitation program. We have ten centers across the St. Louis Metro area serving individuals recovering from a traumatic injury or illness who no longer require 24-hour nursing or acute rehabilitative care. We take a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to build skills and maximize independence.

• Attends appropriate clinical meetings to facilitate coordination
• Provides for patient education to include development of comprehensive and progressive home programs with instruction to patient, family and other caregivers
• Prepares for patient discharge inclusive of ordering of necessary equipment and recommendations
• Evaluates patient in actual or simulated home, school, work or community environments

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Therapy required
• Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American speech-Language & Hearing Association or eligibility for Certification pending professional experience required.
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
