Job summary

SSM Health Rehabilitation Network is seeking a Per Diem Speech-Language Pathologist to join the team at St. Mary's Health Center in Richmond Heights, MO – Acute Therapy. The role supports acute care and inpatient rehabilitation services with flexibility in scheduling.

Applicants must hold Missouri licensure (or eligibility), CCC-SLP, and BLS. Prior acute care experience is preferred, with opportunities for professional growth in a supportive community hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current Missouri Speech-Language Pathologist license, or eligibility for licensure, required.
• CCC-SLP certification from ASHA required.
• Current BLS certification or completion within 90 days of employment required.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in acute care and/or inpatient rehabilitation preferred.
• FEES and/or MBSImP training or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans per physician orders.
• Provide discipline-specific speech-language pathology services and oversee appropriate delegation of care.
• Design functional treatment programs supporting safe discharge and reintegration home.
• Educate patients, families, students, and interdisciplinary team members; participate in professional development.
• Contribute to program development, quality initiatives and clinical activities.

Tier I - $45 (plus weekend differential $2) - 1 shift per month (one must be weekend shift) - 1 holiday/weekend prior or after (managers discretion)

Tier II - $50 (plus weekend differential $2) - 3 shifts per month (at least 2 must be weekend shifts) - One summer and one winter holiday/weekend prior or after (managers discretion)

The Speech-Language Pathology Department operates within a regional staffing model, requiring clinicians to maintain competency and flexibility across both acute care and inpatient rehabilitation settings. Responsibilities

• Provide discipline-specific speech-language pathology services and oversee appropriate delegation of care in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Design and implement functional treatment programs that support safe discharge planning and successful reintegration into home and community environments.
• Educate patients, families, students, and interdisciplinary team members while actively participating in ongoing professional development.
• Contribute to program development, quality initiatives, and other professional activities that support excellence in patient care and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Current Missouri Speech-Language Pathologist license, or eligibility for licensure, required.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or completion within 90 days of employment, required.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in acute care and/or inpatient rehabilitation settings preferred; candidates with prior experience within the SSM Health Rehabilitation Network as a student clinician are encouraged to apply.
• FEES and/or MBSImP training or certification preferred.
