Job summary

SSM Health Physical Therapy Day Instititute in Florissant, MO seeks a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a float, full-time role in our outpatient rehabilitation program.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients, setting goals, coordinating care, and educating families with home programs. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Speech Therapy, state licensure eligibility, CCC-SLP, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Speech Therapy required.
• Current state licensure or eligibility for SLP licensure.
• CCC-SLP certification or eligibility.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates assigned patients and sets treatment goals.
• Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans.
• Develops comprehensive goals to maximize outcomes.
• Coordinates with other therapies and attends clinical meetings.
• Educates patients and families with home programs and instructions.
• Prepares for discharge including equipment and recommendations.
• Assesses patients in home, school, work, or community settings.

SSM Health Physical Therapy Day Instititute

Position: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)- Float

Location: Florissant, MO

Type of Employment: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00A-4:30P

SSM Health Day Institute is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to work a Float position in our specialized outpatient rehabilitation program. We have ten centers across the St. Louis Metro area serving individuals recovering from a traumatic injury or illness who no longer require 24-hour nursing or acute rehabilitative care. We take a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to build skills and maximize independence. Responsibilities

• Evaluates assigned patients and establishes appropriate treatment goals and treatment programs
• Provides ongoing evaluation of patient’s status and goals
• Develops comprehensive goals for patient treatment to maximize outcomes.
• Coordinates treatment program in conjunction with other clinical/therapeutic services
• Attends appropriate clinical meetings to facilitate coordination
• Provides for patient education to include development of comprehensive and progressive home programs with instruction to patient, family and other caregivers
• Prepares for patient discharge inclusive of ordering of necessary equipment and recommendations
• Evaluates patient in actual or simulated home, school, work or community environments

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Therapy required
• Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American speech-Language & Hearing Association or eligibility for Certification pending professional experience required.
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
