Job summary

Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, OR is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide screening assessments, diagnostic evaluations and patient training related to communication, swallowing and cognition within the Rehabilitation services team.

The role includes developing treatment plans, documenting in medical records, supervising therapy interns, and supporting discharge planning. Weekend rotations may be required; credentialing may be in process at Beaverton locations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Oregon State license (or in CFY process).
• ASHA CCC certification required; license within one year.
• Experience with inpatient acute care settings and dysphagia knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients to determine appropriateness of referral and establishes treatment goals.
• Develops and implements treatment plans and monitors progress.
• Documents evaluations and treatment in patient records per hospital and payer criteria.
• Supervises therapy interns and provides patient/family education.
• Communicates with care team and participates in discharge planning and post-hospital placement.
