Job summary

Oregon Health & Science University invites applications for a Speech-Language Pathologist in the Rehabilitation Services department. The role encompasses screening assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and patient training related to communication, swallowing and cognition within an inpatient setting.

You will establish goals, implement treatment plans, supervise interns, and contribute to research and educational activities while meeting documentation standards. Weekend rotations may occur.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology or CFY with Oregon licensing steps.
• Oregon state license must be obtained within one year of appointment.
• ASHA CCCs required or in process for CFY pathway.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients, establish treatment goals and implement plans.
• Provide screening, diagnostic evaluations and patient training.
• Supervise therapy interns and participate in education/research activities.
• Document evaluations in medical records per hospital and payer criteria.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary team and discharge planning.
• Provide supervision for aides and volunteers as required.
• Engage in care coordination and rehabilitation optimization.
