Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for the Acute Care department in Destin, FL. This PRN role focuses on therapy interventions, patient education, and discharge planning within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, counseling patients and families, and coordinating with care teams to support short-term therapy goals. Florida SLP licensure and BLS are required, with hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 30 days of hire, via American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Speech-Language Pathologist credential from Florida Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology; provisional license accepted until issued; must obtain full licensure within 12 months.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of experience OR Associate's/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable experience.
• One year of hospital-based experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

• Educate and counsel patient and family regarding treatment plans.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Speech-Language Pathologist credentialed from the Florida Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Speech language pathologist provisional license will be accepted until license is issued. License must be obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date.

Education
