Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Speech-Language Pathologist for a full-time, short-term coverage position in Yelm, Washington, serving developmental preschool students across two school locations. The role includes preschool child-development diagnostic services and collaboration with another SLP.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, a WA SLP license, and the WA ESAs; CFs are welcome.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
• Valid Washington State Speech-Language Pathologist license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Valid Washington Educational Staff Associate certificate or eligibility to obtain one.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred
• Clinical Fellows are welcome to apply
• Must have current fingerprints on file with OSPI or be willing to complete
• Must provide at least two supervisory references
• Experience with preschool students, articulation evaluations, or school-based services preferred
• Strong assessment, communication, documentation, organization, and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct speech and language evaluations, screenings, and diagnostic assessments
• Provide individualized and small-group speech and language therapy
• Complete preschool child-development diagnostics, primarily related to articulation
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Create measurable goals based on students’ individual communication needs
• Provide developmentally appropriate services to preschool-aged students
• Support students with articulation, speech, language, social communication, fluency, voice, and augmentative communication needs
• Track student progress and maintain accurate service documentation
• Prepare evaluation reports, progress reports, and other required records
• Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team planning
• Collaborate with the other assigned SLP, teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers
• Provide communication strategies and consultation to classroom staff and families
• Ensure services comply with state, federal, and district requirements
