Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for the 2026–2027 school year in Spanaway, WA. This in-person school-based role offers a full-time schedule, Monday–Friday, serving students in a local district.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, WA SLP license or eligibility, WA ESEA certificate or eligibility, and OSPI fingerprint clearance. Pediatric/school experience is preferred; compensation ranges from $55–$70 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
  • Valid Washington State SLP license or eligibility.
  • Washington Educational Staff Associate certificate or eligibility.
  • Must have current fingerprints on file with OSPI or be willing to complete.
  • Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct speech and language evaluations and assessments
  • Provide individualized and small-group speech and language therapy
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Create measurable goals based on students’ communication needs
  • Track student progress and maintain accurate service documentation
  • Prepare evaluation reports, progress reports, and other required records
  • Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team planning
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers
  • Provide consultation and communication strategies to classroom staff and families
  • Support students with a variety of speech, language, communication, fluency, and voice needs
  • Ensure services comply with state, federal, and district requirements
