Required Qualifications:

The individual employed for this position must hold the proper educational credentials, certifications, and experiences to serve as Speech/Language Pathologist for Jacksonville School District #117 or such alternatives as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable. The minimum requirements include the following:

Education & Certification Requirements
  • Master's degree in speech and language pathology meeting State of Illinois academic and supervised practicum experience requirements.
  • Valid Standard Special License, Type 10 or 73 in Speech and Language Impaired. May also be licensed in accordance with the Illinois Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Practice Act, in addition, may hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CC) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.

  • Able to regularly sit and occasionally walk and stand.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Able to hear conversations in a quiet and/or noisy environment, and will continually need the ability to differentiate between bells, buzzers, etc.
Duties and Essential Job Functions
  • Identifies and evaluates students with speech and language impairments.
