Job summary

Armada Area Schools is seeking a part-time Speech Language Pathologist to provide direct and indirect services to students, including face-to-face and virtual sessions. You will assess language needs and support IEP goal development while collaborating with families and multidisciplinary staff.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Michigan certification or ASHA CCC, and demonstrated school-based clinical experience. A criminal background check is mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Speech Correction preferred and/or current Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Evidence of successful clinical experience in communication disorders and language development at the school-age level.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with people.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with parents.
  • Must pass criminal background check as required by School Safety Legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech language intervention services to face‑to‑face and virtual learners.
  • Instruct individuals in both large and small group language activities.
  • Perform speech and language diagnostic testing.
  • Write IEP goals and objectives and prescriptive activities based on results of diagnostic testing.
  • Communicate and work with parents with respect to student’s language strengths and weaknesses.

Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
