Job summary

Civic Debate Academy is seeking a virtual speech coach for an online private school. The role involves teaching two classes per week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:00 PM CT, preparing students for Original Oratory and Informative Speaking, and coordinating with the head debate coach of the school.

Speech Coaches lead weekly classes, develop curriculum, provide homework feedback, and complete student evaluations.

Qualifications

• Able to teach virtually consistently from 3:30 - 5:00 PM CT.
• Coaching, teaching, or mentoring experience in an educational setting.
• Experience in Informative Speaking and Original Oratory.
• Excellent communication and classroom enthusiasm.
• Patience with beginner students.

Responsibilities

• Lead weekly classes, two per week, and prepare students for competitions in Original Oratory and Informative Speaking.
• Develop curriculum and provide written homework feedback.
• Complete student evaluations.
• Coordinate with the head debate coach and other coaches.

About the Role

Civic Debate Academy is hiring a virtual speech coach for an online private school. This coach will teach two classes a week, Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:00 PM CT, and will prepare students to compete in Original Oratory and Informative Speaking. The coach will work closely with the debate coach operating on Tuesday & Thursday, as well as coordinating with the head debate coach of the school.

Speech Coaches at Civic Debate Academy bring debate to life for students at every stage of their journey. Coaches lead weekly classes, develop curriculum, provide written homework feedback, and complete student evaluations. Each class is capped at 8 students.
