Job summary

Novel Prep is seeking an experienced Speech & Debate Coach to mentor middle and high school students (grades 8–12) aiming for Top 30 universities. This is a fully remote, part‑time role centered on strategic planning and competitive instruction.

You will guide students through events PF, Congressional, Extemp, Policy, and IPPF, develop training plans, review ballots, and coordinate tournament entries, including NSDA and TOC paths, using Tabroom.com.

Qualifications

Experience coaching students in the U.S. National Speech & Debate Circuit.
Record of coaching teams to competitive success at major tournaments (NSDA Nationals, TOC).
Strong instruction in case construction, rebuttals, and research methods.
Ability to analyze judge decisions (RFD) and guide student improvement.

Responsibilities

Develop individualized training plans and long-term competition strategies.
Teach events: PF, Congressional, Extemporaneous Speaking, Policy, IPPF.
Provide instruction in case construction, brief writing, research, rebuttal strategy and public speaking.
Coordinate tournament registration and entries using Tabroom.com.
Coach before, during, and after regional and national tournaments and invitationals.
Conduct post-round reviews to improve student performance.
