Job summary
The Home for Little Wanderers seeks a Licensed SPED Teacher (History/Humanities) at Clifford Academy in Walpole, MA. You will implement individualized educational programs for students with special needs and participate in multi-disciplinary teams to support treatment, education, and family involvement.
Required MA licensure with a history/humanities focus; a Master’s in Education is preferred and a Special Education license is desirable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with history/humanities focus.
- Massachusetts educator licensure is required.
- Master's degree in Education or related field preferred.
- Special Education license desired.
- Experience with the special needs population is highly desirable.
- Computer literacy including MS Office and internet navigation.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized educational programs for students at varying academic levels.
- Manage behavior and crisis interventions within the classroom.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary treatment teams and report progress (IEPs).
- Maintain a safe, organized classroom and monitor student activities.
- Communicate with families and involve them in education plans.
- Contribute to committees and assist with coverage as needed.
