Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers' Walpole program seeks a Licensed SPED Teacher (Mathematics) for a Massachusetts Chapter 766 school, Clifford Academy. The role focuses on individualized education programs and a comprehensive, therapeutic approach to education.

You will implement IEPs, plan lessons, manage behaviors, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team while communicating with families. The environment emphasizes safe, engaging instruction and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics required.
• Master's degree in Education preferred.
• Massachusetts Educator Licensure required.
• Special Education license desired.
• Previous experience in education and/or with the target population highly desirable.
• Computer literate including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer with the ability to learn new software applications

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) for students at varying academic levels.
• Engage in classroom behavioral management and crisis intervention activities.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary teams and report progress to stakeholders.
• Plan curriculum and specific lesson plans aligned with agency guidelines.
• Maintain a safe, orderly classroom and liaise with families and collateral staff.
• Provide coverage as needed and participate in committees as appropriate
