Job summary

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum 2 years of special education teaching experience (preferred).
Valid Texas Educator Certification with required SPED endorsement.
Valid special education certification (required).

Responsibilities

Train teachers of SPED and general education staff on confidentiality and legal requirements.
Coordinate ARD/504 meetings and placement decisions.
Assist in scheduling SPED instruction and staff development.
Monitor SPED/504 students’ progress and coordinate instruction.
Maintain records and reports as required by district, state, and federal laws.
Communicate progress to parents, students, principals, and teachers.
Collaborate with district personnel to support SPED/504 services.
Support implementation of accommodations and modifications for IEPs.
