Job summary

The candidate will manage IEP/504 processes, plan ARD/504 meetings, and collaborate with district personnel to support SPED/504 students and families, ensuring compliance and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 2 years of special education teaching experience (Preferred)
• Valid Texas Educator Certification with required special education endorsement (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Understands and supports Harmony Public Schools’ mission, vision and values.
• Manages the IEP and 504 process across initial and re-evaluations with required meetings, documentation and reporting.
• Plans, facilitates ARD/504 meetings and serves on the ARD/504 Committee.
• Participates in placement decisions based on educational data.
• Establishes objectives based on evaluation findings for ARD recommendations.
• Monitors compliance with timelines and state/federal regulations.
• Communicates with parents, teachers, and administrators regarding student progress.
• Trains staff on confidentiality and SPED requirements.
• Schedules SPED instruction and supports planning for staff development.
• Maintains confidential records and prepares required SPED/504 documentation.
• Collaborates with district personnel to educate families about SPED/504 services.
